Mounjaro Weight Loss Results: What to Expect
People ask how much weight they'll lose before they ask anything else. Fair question. The honest answer is that results vary, but the trial data gives you a realistic picture.
- Weeks 1-12: your body adjusts. Weight loss typically starts at around 1-3 lbs a week as the dose steps up.
- Months 3-6: progress becomes more visible, with many people around 9-11% of their starting weight.
- After 6 months: at a maintenance dose, trials show up to 20.9% total weight loss by 72 weeks.
Mounjaro isn't a quick fix. It's a tool that works alongside a healthy diet and regular activity.
Mounjaro Treatment Plan and Dosing
You take Mounjaro once a week, on the same day, with or without food. Start on 2.5mg for four weeks, then step up by 2.5mg every four weeks as tolerated, up to a maximum of 15mg.
2.5mg → 5mg → 7.5mg → 10mg → 12.5mg → 15mg
Not everyone needs the top dose. If 5mg or 10mg is working with manageable side effects, that may be your maintenance dose. Jumping doses too quickly to speed things up is a mistake, and usually just lands you feeling worse.
How to Inject Mounjaro Safely
Administering your Mounjaro injection at home is simple once you know the routine. The KwikPen is designed for accuracy and ease.
-
Rotate injection sites
Switch between your abdomen, thigh, or upper arm each week, and avoid the same spot two weeks in a row. -
Check the dose knob
Make sure it's set to the amount your clinician prescribed. -
Inject at 90 degrees
Press the button until it clicks and hold for 10 seconds. A fresh needle each time reduces the chance of infection. -
Dispose properly
Place used pens and needles in a sharps bin, never the household waste.
For full step-by-step instructions, always refer to the patient information leaflet provided with your prescription.
How to Store Your Mounjaro Pen
To keep your injection safe and effective, store it correctly from the moment it arrives. We ship every pen in temperature-controlled packaging, but storage at home is just as important.
- Keep unused pens refrigerated at 2°C to 8°C
- After your first dose, the pen can stay at room temperature (up to 30°C) for up to 30 days
- Never freeze the pen or leave it in direct sunlight
- Dispose of used pens in a sharps bin, not household waste
